Montes del Plata’s first pulp export
On Wednesday, 2 July 2014, the Tawa Arrow ship arrived at the Punta Pereira Port Terminal (TPPP) to load 21,000 tonnes of cellulose pulp to be shipped to Asia.
With this event, the industrial complex completed its start-up activities that began immediately after obtaining all required authorizations on 6 June.
When the mill begins its full-time production schedule, the TPPP will receive five ships every month for cellulose pulp exports.
Pulp is packed in two-tonne packages consisting of eight bundles and transported on trucks the stockpile hold to the side of the ship.
There they are loaded 13 at a time onto the ship and are stowed on three of the five cargo holds of the ship.
