Both the Office of the President and SINAE stated their immediate interest in the donation and an official ceremony took place at the Executive Tower. During the event, Presidential Chief of Staff Diego Cánepa and officials the National Emergency System thanked Montes del Plata for its contributions to the programs that help resolve the complex situation in the littoral region.

Montes del Plata had already donated lodging infrastructure the temporary housing in Punta Pereira that housed 1,088 persons to Plan Juntos ("Together Plan") in an amount equivalent to USD 3.84 million.

Furthermore, the 1,800 person lodging located in Carmelo as well as the 150 home neighbourhood in the city of Colonia del Sacramento will be donated to the Colonia departmental government for social purposes.
